About ArcaScience

ArcaScience is a French Healthtech company founded in 2018 that provides an AI-driven platform for benefit-risk intelligence to optimize the drug development lifecycle. The company was founded by Romain Clement, who was inspired to create the company after a personal battle with brain cancer revealed inefficiencies in how tailored treatments are designed for individual patients. He partnered with serial entrepreneur Jean-François Arbona (CTO) and former Head of Sales at Happytal, Julien Dufour (CBO), to accelerate the company's commercial growth.

The Paris-based startup's mission is to address the significant bottlenecks in drug development, where an estimated 90% of candidates fail, and the average cost per approved drug is $2.3 billion over a ten-year timeline. ArcaScience's proprietary platform is designed to replace slow, manual legacy processes with an AI-powered decision engine. It utilizes 24 specialized, clinician-trained AI models to process and synthesize over 100 billion data points from disparate sources, including clinical trial data, real-world evidence, scientific literature, and regulatory submissions. This enables pharmaceutical companies and CROs to perform benefit-risk assessments in seconds, a process that traditionally could take up to 18 months, thereby de-risking clinical trials and accelerating time-to-market.

The company serves the global pharmaceutical industry, which has an estimated $13 billion annual market for benefit-risk evaluation. Its client roster includes major pharmaceutical companies such as Sanofi, AstraZeneca, GSK, Takeda, and Roche, as well as research institutions like the Paris Brain Institute. ArcaScience operates on a B2B model, selling its software to pharmacovigilance, clinical operations, and strategic decision-making teams. The platform has supported over 50 regulatory submissions and has been used to evaluate treatments for more than 70,000 patients, primarily in chronic skin diseases. In September 2025, ArcaScience announced a €6 million ($7 million) Seed funding round led by The Moon Venture, with participation from Pléiade Venture, Plug&Play Ventures, Bpifrance, and AKKA Technologies. This followed a €1.3 million pre-seed round. The funds are aimed at supporting expansion into the US and UK markets and launching a patient-facing solution focused on pediatric brain cancer and dermatological diseases.
