About Apropos Technology
In 1989, a company called Apropos Technology was founded with a forward-thinking idea: to create software that could manage all of a company's customer interactions in one place. Before the internet reshaped the business world, they were building systems to unify communications across email, fax, and telephone. This put them in a prime position as the dot-com era began to accelerate, offering a solution that enabled businesses to get a complete picture of their customer relationships. The market recognized the potential. In February 2000, at the height of the tech boom, Apropos Technology launched its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The offering was priced at $22 a share, above its initial range, and opened at an impressive $50, signaling strong investor confidence in the burgeoning field of customer relationship management software. As the technology landscape evolved, so did Apropos. By 2005, the company had established itself as a key player, serving over 300 clients globally. This success attracted the attention of Syntellect, a subsidiary of Enghouse Systems. In September 2005, a deal was announced for Syntellect to acquire Apropos for approximately $50 million. The acquisition was completed in late 2005, marking the next chapter for the technology and team that had started their journey over 15 years earlier.
