Aigou.com, initially launched as Goubaobao in April 2005, was a Beijing-based online platform focused on the pet care market. The company was established by founder Jinfei Chen with an initial investment from Tongchan Group chairman Chen Jinfei. Aigou's business centered on providing a comprehensive information portal for pet owners. The platform offered a wide range of content, including detailed information corresponding to different pet breeds and extensive resources on pet care. Users could access a library of articles and guides covering numerous aspects of pet ownership.

The company's strategy involved both organic growth and acquisition. In a significant milestone, Aigou acquired the dog breeding site Gougou 520 in 2007, subsequently appointing Zhou Handong as CEO. The business operated as a B2C information services and social software platform, enabling users to not only obtain information but also to discuss pet-related products and topics. Beyond content, the platform aimed to support the entire pet ownership lifecycle by connecting users with shelters and rescues for pet adoption and by providing access to pet insurance providers for comparing and selecting plans.

Aigou secured significant venture capital to fuel its operations. It raised a total of $20 million over two funding rounds. The first Series A round occurred in March 2009, raising $10 million. This was followed by a Series B round in March 2011, which brought in an additional $10 million, with SAIF Partners being a key investor. Despite its initial growth and funding, the company is now listed as deadpooled, having ceased operations around February 2017.
