Acoru
Inter-bank mule intelligence to predict APP fraud and scams
About Acoru
Acoru is a Madrid fraud-prevention company founded in December 2023 by cybersecurity veterans Pablo de la Riva Ferrezuelo (CEO) and David Morán that helps banks predict Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud, scams and money-mule activity before funds move. Its Account Monitoring Platform classifies first-party and counterparty accounts using pre-fraud intent and network behaviour signals—such as micro-transaction clusters and automated interaction patterns—and links classifications across participating institutions via the Acoru Consortium for collective defence. The approach is designed for AI-enabled social engineering, deepfakes and voice-cloning schemes that transaction-only tools often miss. After an earlier seed from Adara Ventures and Athos Capital, in October 2025 Acoru raised a €10 million Series A led by 33N Ventures with Adara and Athos returning, bringing disclosed venture funding to about €14 million to scale prediction and prevention of AI-driven fraud and money laundering.
