Above Security

Above Security provides an AI-native managed platform focused on proactively identifying and managing insider threats within organizations. Founded in July 2025 by Aviv Nahum and Amir Boldo, both seasoned entrepreneurs and veterans of elite Israeli intelligence units, the company aims to address the growing complexity of internal risks, which now include not only human employees but also autonomous AI agents. The founders' backgrounds in cybersecurity and AI, including a prior exit for Nahum whose company Ctrl was acquired, informed their approach to tackling a problem they believe legacy systems have failed to solve.

The company secured a total of $50 million in funding within its first eight months, comprising a $7 million Seed round and a subsequent $43 million Series A round. The funding was led by Ballistic Ventures, Merlin Ventures, and Norwest, with participation from Jump Capital and QPV Ventures, and is intended to help scale the platform and accelerate adoption. Above Security is headquartered in San Francisco and Tel Aviv.

Above's core technology utilizes a fleet of specialized AI investigators that continuously monitor and analyze behavior across an organization's identity systems, endpoints, SaaS applications, and AI environments. Instead of relying on static rules or simple anomaly detection, its "Arbiter engine" correlates signals to understand user and agent intent, constructing human-readable timelines of events. This "narrative intelligence" approach aims to distinguish between malicious, negligent, and harmless actions, reducing false positives and providing actionable context for security, legal, and HR teams. The platform offers features like in-the-moment coaching to guide employees away from risky behavior and generates investigation-ready reports. Above Security targets enterprises with over 1,000 employees, particularly those with a significant presence in SaaS and cloud environments.
