Abu Dhabi signs four deals with OpenAI as ADNOC becomes the first energy company to deploy OpenAI Frontier
After Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed met Sam Altman on 2 November, Abu Dhabi entities signed four agreements with OpenAI. ADNOC, with G42 unit Inception42, becomes the first energy company to deploy OpenAI's frontier technology, on GPT models running on in-country UAE inference; first uses are full-field development plans in hours rather than months and agents that forecast crude supply, demand and prices. The government and OpenAI launched a Machine-Readable Government initiative that turns rules into machine-readable form, piloted on food imports. Mubadala will apply OpenAI models to investment analysis, and Inception42 signed a five-year deal to roll out frontier AI across UAE government, enterprise and education. No financial terms were disclosed. It is part of Abu Dhabi's goal to be the world's first fully AI-native government.
