Anthropic and Hg to launch an AI consultancy for European businesses, with hubs in London and Berlin

Anthropic has agreed to back a new independent European AI consultancy with London-based private equity firm Hg, the Financial Times reported on 23 October, its first such move in Europe. Due to launch by the end of 2026 with hubs in London and Berlin, it will embed AI engineers and consultants in companies, especially B2B software firms, and work with Hg's portfolio. Anthropic will invest from its balance sheet and Hg through its funds, including HgCapital Trust. The model follows Ode, the US services firm Anthropic set up with Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman with $1.5 billion planned investment, and OpenAI's Deployment Company with TPG, Advent, Bain and Brookfield.
