Amsterdam-founded Framer launches an MCP server so ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and other AI agents can build and edit Framer sites
Website builder Framer launched Framer MCP on 22 October, letting AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Cursor and Grok design, build and update Framer sites via a remote Model Context Protocol server with OAuth. Agents can work with the canvas, components, CMS and project settings under the user's permissions without the editor being open, and changes stay in the project or a branch until explicitly published. Framer says MCP is now its recommended way to connect AI agents, replacing its older local External Agents CLI. Co-founder Jorn van Dijk shared the launch; Framer raised $100 million at a $2 billion valuation in 2025.
