Marc Andreessen: software will eat the world at compute speed as agents write 90%+ of code

Updating his 2011 thesis, Andreessen notes tech’s share of the top-10 global market caps rose from 31.5% to 94.4% even while only ~1 in 300 people wrote code by hand. He argues coding agents now push software from human-hand speed to compute speed: Devin rose from 13% to more than 90% of Cognition’s production code in a year, with cited gains at Mercedes (COBOL migration in days), Rivian (10× test generation), and Itau (auto-remediating most vulns).
