Wormhole Travel with Dubai Loop
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and The Boring Company (TBC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch Dubai Loop , a next-generation underground transportation system designed to revolutionize urban mobility in Dubai. The project will begin with a 17-kilometer pilot phase featuring 11 stations, capable of transporting over 20,000 passengers per hour, with long-term plans to expand across the Emirate.

With speeds of up to 100 mph, the Dubai Loop aims to dramatically reduce travel times, enhance urban transport capacity, and support Dubai’s Clean Energy Strategy 2050 through sustainable, electric-powered transit. Once fully operational, the system is expected to accommodate over 100,000 passengers per hour.
The signing ceremony took place during the World Government Summit in Dubai, attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, along with senior representatives from TBC and RTA, including James Fitzgerald (TBC), John Hering (Vy Capital), His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer (RTA), and His Excellency Omar Al Olama (UAE Minister of AI).
The RTA, established in 2005, is responsible for Dubai’s transport infrastructure, including the Dubai Metro, road networks, and marine transport. It continues to seek advanced mobility solutions to support the city's rapid urban expansion.
