Founding : Apax Partners was founded in 1972 by Ronald Cohen and Maurice Tchénio.

Partnership : In 1977, partnered with Alan Patricof, leading to the formation of Alan Patricof Associates (APA).

Rebranding : In 1991, Apax Partners became the official name for European operations.

U.S. Operations : U.S. operations continued under Patricof & Co. until 2001.

Global Unification : In 2001, Patricof & Co. adopted the Apax Partners brand.
