SecureSoft buys IT staffing firm ATJC, adding 400 engineers

What's the deal? SecureSoftDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired all shares of ATJC, a Tokyo-based IT staffing and development company, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. The deal completed on October 30, with SecureSoft chief executive officer Shoku Kyo also taking over as ATJC's representative director. Terms were undisclosed.

What each side does: SecureSoft runs cybersecurity products, including its Sniper platform, alongside AI-based monitoring, vulnerability testing, digital forensics, and consulting. ATJC, founded in December 2007, employs about 400 engineers and specialises in application development, AWS infrastructure work, and IT expert dispatch (SES).

What's the endgame? The acquisition pushes SecureSoft beyond cybersecurity into application development, infrastructure, and staffing. ATJC's name, operations, employment, and customer relationships are expected to continue.

Why now? The deal reflects opposite portfolio priorities. Seller Nareru GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → is exiting IT to focus on construction solutions and construction DX, while SecureSoft broadens its IT capabilities.

What could go wrong? For Nareru, this is a repositioning rather than a clean-value exit. It completed the sale for ¥1.144 billion, below the initial ¥1.2 billion price, and expects to book a ¥564 million consolidated loss.

The signal: The transaction is a textbook carve-out: a listed company shedding a non-core subsidiary to concentrate capital on growth areas, while a buyer uses M&A to expand its service range. For SecureSoft, bundling security with infrastructure and engineering talent is a bet on integrated IT services as cyberattacks grow more sophisticated.
