NFS Capital lands $250M facility from Fifth Third, lifting capacity to $800M

What's the deal? NFS Capital, a Beverly, Massachusetts-based independent equipment finance company, has closed a $250 million warehouse credit facility with Fifth Third Bank. The deal adds a new lender and lifts the company's total bank facility capacity to $800 million.

What's the endgame? NFS Capital uses such debt to finance customer equipment deals across the US and Canada. The new line gives it room to back equipment acquisitions, technology investments, and complex, multi-vendor projects.

Who they are: Founded in 2006, NFS Capital has provided more than $2 billion in equipment financing. It handles transactions from $150,000 to over $20 million and uses what it calls a "story-based" underwriting approach that weighs a business's broader circumstances alongside standard financial measures.

Why now? The timing tracks a strong equipment-finance market. Equipment Leasing and Finance Association data showed year-to-date new-business volume up 17% through September 2026, with the industry forecasting a record year.

Banks are also increasingly funding independent finance companies as they manage capital constraints, making warehouse lines a key growth tool.

What's not disclosed: The announcement does not reveal pricing, utilization, or how much additional lending the facility will support.

"Establishing this relationship with Fifth Third is an important step in the evolution of our capital platform," said Dana Calumby, chief financial officer of NFS Capital. The line gives the company "greater flexibility to handle a broader range of transactions," he added.

The signal: At $250 million, the facility ranks in the top 10% of US fintech debt rounds on record, underscoring how bank-funded credit lines are powering growth for independent lenders in a buoyant equipment-finance market.
