FactSet taps Hamilton Lane's private markets data in its latest partnership play
What's the deal?
On 2 November 2026 FactSet and Hamilton Lane announced a strategic partnership that will make Hamilton Lane's private markets data, covering more than 70,000 funds and 240,000 assets plus proprietary fund- and deal-level benchmarks, available inside FactSet's portfolio analytics platform. The integration targets three use cases: private markets benchmarking, risk and commitment-pacing models, and whole-portfolio monitoring across public and private holdings. Availability details will follow in the coming months.
Context
It is FactSet's second private markets data partnership in two weeks, after a tie-up with Nasdaq Private Market announced on 20 October 2026. FactSet is building out private markets coverage mainly through partnerships, while peers have bought their way in: S&P Global completed its $1.8B acquisition of With Intelligence in November 2025, MSCI completed its acquisition of Burgiss in October 2023, Bloomberg completed its acquisition of Canoe Intelligence on 1 October 2026, and LSEG agreed on 22 October 2026 to acquire Octus for $3.535B (expected to close in 2027). For Hamilton Lane, a private markets investor, it is another sign that its data is becoming a product in its own right.
