Baykar turns Bayraktar TB2 into carrier for FPV attack drones
What's the deal? Turkish drone maker BaykarDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has demonstrated its Bayraktar TB2 combat drone acting as a flying carrier for small FPV kamikaze drones, releasing footage of the test on 4 November 2026. The TB2 carried 16 Skydagger first-person-view drones, eight under each wing, took off from Baykar's Keşan flight training and test centre in northwestern Türkiye, and released two of the drones, which ground operators steered through the TB2's data link into ground targets.
Why it matters: The TB2 also served as a communications relay for the FPV operators, which Baykar says can extend the small drones' reach well beyond their usual range of around 15 km. The demonstration points to a growing role for larger uncrewed aircraft as motherships and relays for cheaper attritable drones, giving the combat-proven TB2 platform a new strike configuration.
