Try Dealroom →, a provider of trusted identity solutions, has acquired inepro ID, a Dutch maker of contactless authentication technology for secure print release and identity management. Financial terms were not disclosed. inepro ID is part of inepro Group, headquartered in Nieuw-Vennep.

What each side brings: Founded in the 1990s, inepro ID makes credential-agnostic RFID and Bluetooth Low Energy readers, software, and professional services for printers, lockers, and shared workplace devices. Its Spider reader family spans embedded, desktop, and portable units. HID adds global sales, engineering, and operational reach.

Why now? "Demand for RFID-based secure print is rising worldwide, driven by stronger security requirements and the shift to shared, flexible workspaces," said Marc Bielmann, senior vice president and head of identification technologies at HID.

What's the endgame? HID wants to connect credential-based access across the workplace. inepro ID joins HID's identification technologies business and its OMNIKEY authentication portfolio, extending identity verification from the door to the printer, locker, and workstation.

What changes: inepro ID's products — used mainly in Europe, with growing reach in North and Latin America — gain HID's global distribution. inepro Group will refocus on smart energy metering and energy intelligence.

The signal: The deal continues HID's portfolio reshaping. It follows HID's 2025 agreement to acquire IDmelon, which pushed it into passwordless digital access, while parent ASSA ABLOY has agreed to sell HID's public-key infrastructure business to Vista Equity Partners. The significance here is strategic rather than financial — no price or scale was disclosed.
