Equity Medical buys majority stake in Skylight, extending site network to eight locations
What's the deal? Equity Medical has acquired a majority stake in Skylight Health Research, a clinical research site network with locations in Burlington, Massachusetts, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. Terms were not disclosed. The deal, announced November 3, 2026, adds two sites to Equity Medical's physician-owned national network, which runs Phase IA–IV clinical trials.
What changes? Both Skylight sites will transition to the Equity Medical brand under their existing clinical leadership. Alisha Garibaldi, who led Skylight as chief executive officer, will continue to oversee the Burlington and Colorado Springs sites. The combined network now spans eight locations across five states — New York, Kentucky, Tennessee, Massachusetts, and Colorado.
What's the endgame? The deal extends Equity Medical's reach into New England and the Mountain West, markets it did not previously serve. It also deepens the company's therapeutic range into cardiometabolic, rheumatology, pain, and vaccine or infectious disease research, complementing existing work in areas including immunology, neurology, and women's health.
Why now? "This acquisition is just as much about diversification as growth," said Dr. Michael Cameron, co-founder and chief executive officer of Equity Medical. He said the deal makes the company "a stronger, more diversified partner for sponsors and CROs."

The signal: Clinical-trial site networks have been consolidating through targeted acquisitions, with firms like Summit and FOMAT adding sites in 2026 to build therapeutic depth and community reach. Equity Medical's deal fits the pattern — two sites and new capabilities rather than a large platform play. Undisclosed terms and the modest site count make the financial significance hard to gauge, but the move signals how site operators are expanding geographic footprint and specialisation to win sponsor work.
