Tana lets your Claude and ChatGPT agents do the work mid-meeting
What's the deal? Tana, the agentic meeting platform, today launched Bring Your Own Agent, which lets teams bring AI agents they already use — including ClaudeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, ChatGPT, Mistral, Lovable and Gemini — into their video calls. Users connect existing accounts, so each agent joins with its own connectors, skills and memory.
Once in the meeting, agents receive the same live context as participants: the transcript, what is on screen, and the meeting chat. They then suggest tasks they can handle — pulling numbers, updating a forecast sheet, filing an issue, or posting a decision in Slack — and act once someone approves.
Why now? Tana built the feature on an arc of recent releases that moved the product's centre of gravity onto the meeting itself. October brought a meeting-timeline home page, live suggestions that draft tasks for approval, and, on October 26, the ability to connect external agents to a call.
What's the endgame? Tana is building the meeting as a workspace where agents act and approval is constant — drafts wait for a click before anything is sent. By treating Claude and ChatGPT as participants rather than rivals, its value rests on the live context of the call, not on owning the model.
"For years, meetings were where we talked about the work. Now the work gets done there, by the agents people already use," said Olav Sindre Kriken, chief executive officer and co-founder of Tana.
What could go wrong? The feature currently requires the Tana desktop app, limiting where it runs. Agents' private-until-shared model and approval gates aim to keep control with users, but adoption at serious organisations hinges on compliance; Tana offers SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR, EU hosting and a choice of US or EU inference.
Tana serves remote and hybrid teams across Europe and the US, and says a large European health tech company already runs its meetings on the platform. The Norwegian-founded, remote-first company won Product HuntDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s Launch of the Year 2025 for its knowledge graph before rebuilding around meetings. It raised $25 million as its waitlist topped 160,000.
Availability. Bring Your Own Agent is live today at tana.inc and works alongside Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet through the desktop app, with a free trial. More agents are coming soon.
The signal: The launch reflects a shift from AI that merely takes notes to AI that completes work in real time. By letting users bring their own assistants rather than locking them into a proprietary model, Tana bets that the meeting — not the model — is the layer where enterprise value will accrue.
