Fastned closes 2026 bond run at record €92M with final €27M issue

What's the deal? Fastned has raised €27 million in its third and final retail bond issue of 2026, drawing investment from thousands of individual retail investors in the Netherlands and Belgium. The issue opened on September 22 and closed on October 30. It was the 22nd issue in the European fast-charging company's bond programme.

Why it matters: The tranche lifts Fastned's total new investment for 2026 to €92 million, the highest annual amount to date and above the €79 million raised in 2025. A further €1.2 million came from existing investors extending earlier tranches, bringing outstanding retail bonds to €364 million.

What's the endgame? Fastned will use the funds to speed up construction across its network of 452 fast-charging stations in nine European countries. It has 70 stations under construction, almost double last year's figure, and has built 46 new stations in 2026.

By the numbers: In its third-quarter update, Fastned reported like-for-like charging-related revenue growth of 47% year-on-year to €46.3 million, while gross profit rose 44% to €37 million. Reported charging-related revenue reached €51.3 million, including a €5.1 million carryover from the Dutch e-credits platform.

"We are very grateful to our retail investors for the trust they place in Fastned," said Michiel Langezaal, co-founder and chief executive officer. "Their investments give us the resources to keep building our network."

The signal: The record bond total points to steady retail investor appetite for Fastned's expansion, even as the company leans on a €364 million outstanding bond balance to fund a capital-heavy rollout. Earlier this year it also secured a bank facility of up to €200 million, diversifying its funding beyond retail bonds.
