Groupe Premium buys Sanso Longchamp AM to build €9.6B asset manager
What's the deal? Groupe PremiumDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has signed an agreement to acquire Sanso Longchamp AM and merge it with Flornoy Ferri, the group's in-house management company. The combined entity will pool €9.6 billion in assets under management and employ nearly 100 people. Terms were not disclosed.
What each side brings: Flornoy Ferri manages €5.4 billion, with bond expertise and conviction-based private management. Sanso Longchamp AM adds €4.2 billion and strengths in European equities, quantitative solutions, and delegated management via Dalton funds.
What changes: Sanso Longchamp's managers, including David Armstrong and David Kalfon, will reinvest in Groupe Premium and take leadership roles in the new entity. Sanso Longchamp's European footprint, strong in Italy, supports the group's expansion beyond France.
Why now? The deal extends Groupe Premium's acquisition-led growth. By September 2026, the group said its assets under management had passed €23 billion, and it had secured €850 million in refinancing for further deals. Completing this one lifts total assets above €30 billion.
What could go wrong? Completion is planned for the first quarter of 2027 but remains subject to approval from the Autorité des marchés financiers and customary conditions.
Chairman Olivier Farouz said the group intends to "build a major champion in asset management."
The signal: Both firms are already products of consolidation — Sanso merged with Longchamp in 2023, Flornoy with Ferri Gestion in 2021. This is a further scale-building step, reinforcing Premium's integrated model as mid-sized French managers combine to compete with larger players across Europe.
