What's the deal? HolcimDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has completed the acquisition of France-based Cem'In'Eu GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, adding two regional cement grinding plants with combined capacity of about 0.48Mta. Financial terms were not disclosed. Holcim confirmed the deal in its third-quarter 2026 results.
What's Cem'In'Eu? Founded as an industrial startup in 2015, the company set out to challenge the traditional integrated cement model with smaller, modular grinding plants sited close to regional markets. It receives imported clinker and raw materials at its Cem'In'Log facility at the port of Sète, then moves them principally by rail to its plants.
The deal covers Aliénor Ciments at Tonneins, operational since 2018, and Rhône Ciments at Portes-lès-Valence, running since 2021. Each has capacity of roughly 0.24Mta. Cem'In'Eu sold almost 0.48Mt of cement in 2025, when both sites reportedly operated at full capacity.
What's the endgame? The acquisition strengthens Holcim's French footprint by bringing established, market-proximate grinding assets into its network. The move is incremental rather than a step-change in scale.
Why now? The deal caps an active year of dealmaking. Holcim reported 10 acquisitions and one divestment in the first nine months of 2026, including a majority stake in Peru's Cementos PacasmayoDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and several European building-materials businesses.
The purchase follows a strong quarter. Recurring operating profit rose 17% to US$894.7M and sales reached US$4.27B, prompting Holcim to raise its full-year recurring operating profit growth outlook to 10 to 12%.
The signal: Unlike the larger, integrated Pacasmayo platform, Cem'In'Eu adds modest capacity that folds into a wider consolidation push. With terms undisclosed, the deal's value is hard to assess, but it signals Holcim's appetite for bolt-on regional assets.
