AdeptID buys MedSource Travelers to double its healthcare staffing arm
What's the deal? AdeptIDDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Boston-based AI talent software and staffing company, has acquired MedSource Travelers, a travel nurse and allied staffing firm serving healthcare facilities nationwide. Terms were not disclosed. It is AdeptID's second healthcare staffing acquisition in a year.
The details: Founded in 2001, MedSource Travelers supplies nursing and allied talent to healthcare organisations in the Southeast and on the West Coast, with offices in Austin and Tampa. It will keep operating under its own brand, and clients and clinicians will retain their existing contacts.
Chief executive officer Paul Gunnoe becomes president of healthcare staffing at AdeptID, leading the combined business. The company says the deal will double its staffing operation.
What's the endgame? AdeptID is assembling a clinician-staffing platform around established agencies — MedSource now joins Lucid Staffing, acquired in October 2025, and Adept Talent. The plan is to apply its AI matching technology and automated workflows across all three, letting clinicians and facilities share jobs and talent pools.
AdeptID's candidate-matching AI already powers more than 10 million job recommendations a month across applicant tracking systems and talent platforms.
"Since the acquisition of Lucid last year, we've seen really exciting growth and early evidence that combining clinical expertise with our technology can reinvent the healthcare talent industry," said chief executive officer Fernando Rodriguez-Villa.
Why now? Healthcare staffing is consolidating fast. Staffing Industry AnalystsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → counted 23 sector deals in 2025 and 19 so far in 2026, spanning nursing, allied health, and other specialties.
The signal: The buying spree is strategic, not a demand surge — SIA forecasts just 1% US healthcare-staffing growth in 2026 even as labour shortages persist and care shifts toward outpatient settings. AdeptID is betting that technology, not market tailwinds, will differentiate a scaled-up agency platform.
