Battery maker Gotion buys into Geely's Farizon in an industry first

Why now? The two sides have worked together since 2019, starting with battery supply and deepening through a 2022 agreement covering an estimated 126,000 battery sets. The latest move pushes that seven-year relationship from supplier to shareholder, aligning the companies on products and demand.
What's the endgame? The investment comes as China's commercial-vehicle battery market expands fast. Installations hit 145.87GWh in the first three quarters of 2026, up nearly 58% year on year — far outpacing the wider industry.
