Cognition buys code-security startup Corridor to harden Devin
What's the deal? CognitionDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the company behind the Devin coding agent, is acquiring Corridor, a startup that secures code written by AI agents. Terms were not disclosed. Corridor's team and product fold into Devin Security.
Who's involved? Corridor co-founders Jack Cable and Ashwin Ramaswami, both formerly of the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, are joining Cognition. The deal reunites them with Alex Stamos, who invested in Corridor's seed round, later led its security, and became Cognition's chief security officer about a month before the acquisition.
What does Corridor do? It integrates with CursorDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Claude Code, and CodexDealroom has a profile for this one. Its software enforces merge policies by severity, investigates findings via Slack or the web, and opens pull requests with proposed fixes.
Why now? The deal lands days after Cognition launched Devin Security on October 26. That product hunts bugs already in a codebase; Corridor stops new ones from landing as agents write thousands of lines at a time.
What's the endgame? Cognition, most recently valued at roughly $48 billion, wants to connect vulnerability detection with policy controls and remediation inside coding-agent workflows. "Software security [is] the most important problem in technology today," the company said.
Corridor had raised about $30.4 million total, including a $25 million Series A at a $200 million valuation led by Felicis in March, with backing from ConvictionDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Lux Capital, Datadog, and SV Angel.
What's unknown? The purchase price, the integration timeline, and whether Corridor's existing integrations and pricing survive the deal remain unclear.
The signal: As AI agents ship code faster than humans can review it, security is moving into the agent's own loop. Cognition is buying a recently funded specialist team to make that layer part of its core product — betting that enterprises need audit trails and enforceable policies before they let agents run.
