What's the deal? KPNDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired XelionDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Delft-based company that builds software for business communication. Xelion joins KPN's SME business division and will stay active as a standalone unit from Delft. Financial terms were not disclosed.
What does Xelion do? Founded in 1988, it offers one platform for calling, messaging, video calls, and customer contact. Staff can also communicate through WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams, and CRM systems. It sells via a partner network and serves entrepreneurs across several European countries.
What's the endgame? KPN wants to simplify communication for business customers as they juggle more channels. It expects Xelion's technology to eventually link communication, customer contact, and AI support — building on KPN Mobiel AI, launched earlier this year.
Why now? The deal follows KPN's April acquisition of customer-contact firm Sound of DataDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, part of a broader push to build digital communications capabilities beyond connectivity.
"We have deliberately and carefully chosen KPN," said Xelion founder Micha Cohen (translated from Dutch). "Xelion is in good hands at KPN and gets the room to remain the innovative company it has always been."
The signal: KPN already holds a strong position in business telecoms — TelecompaperDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → put its revenue share at 41% in Q2 2026 — and is now deepening its SME offer with software rather than just connectivity. Without deal value or integration detail, though, the acquisition's financial significance is hard to assess.
