Harbour Digital Asset Capital completes $9.5M rights issue

What's the deal? Harbour Digital Asset CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Hong Kong-listed investment company, has completed a rights issue that raised gross proceeds of about US$9.01M (roughly $9.5 million). The three-for-two offer priced new shares at US$0.02 each, and net proceeds come to approximately US$8.84M.

How it closed: All 395,855,771 unsubscribed rights shares were placed with independent third-party investors. No new substantial shareholders emerged, and shareholding remains largely in public hands.

What's the endgame? The company plans to use most of the proceeds to invest in listed securities in Hong Kong, mainland China, and the US, plus listed and unlisted corporate debt in Hong Kong and the US. The rest goes to general working capital.

It positions itself as a financial investor across equity and debt instruments, with emphasis on Hong Kong and US issuers. Its interim results showed a portfolio concentrated in listed shares, worth US$29.4M, and unlisted bonds, worth US$6.13M.

By the numbers: The raise nearly tripled the share count. Shares outstanding rose from about 354 million to roughly 886 million, while director Chung Fai Chun's stake held steady in absolute terms but shrank as a percentage. Share certificates are due to be dispatched by October 30, 2026.

Why now? The financing lands as Hong Kong pushes a broader digital-asset agenda, including licensing, stablecoin rules, and tokenisation initiatives. That backdrop frames the raise, though the company tied the proceeds to listed securities and debt rather than a specific digital-asset project.

The signal: The rights issue roughly doubles Harbour's capital base and marks a sizable step up from its prior standing. Its real impact now hinges on how the enlarged pool is deployed across the multi-market portfolio.
