KNAV buys Fastrics to build out its governance and compliance stack
What's the deal? KNAV, a global accounting and advisory firm, has acquired Fastrics, a Florida-based technology consulting and digital transformation firm. The deal, announced October 28, adds 28 US-based professionals to KNAV. Terms were undisclosed.
What does Fastrics do? It helps companies assess technology and cyber risk, automate compliance controls, and modernise operations with analytics. It is known for its Workiva expertise and connected reporting across financial reporting, governance, risk management, and internal controls.
What's the endgame? KNAV wants to combine Fastrics' Workiva capabilities with its own risk advisory practice and proprietary GRC Hub. The goal is to support clients across implementation, reporting, internal controls, compliance, and ongoing program management under one framework.
The product angle: The acquisition lands alongside KNAV's launch of KNAV GRC, an enterprise software-as-a-service platform. It pulls regulatory compliance, risk management, and assurance into a single system of record, applying analytics to monitor activity and flag anomalies. Fastrics' expertise is meant to feed directly into that tool.
Why now? KNAV casts the deal as part of its shift to a "technology-enabled professional services firm," alongside investment in its internal AI platform, KNAV TARA. "Fastrics brings exceptional talent and complementary capabilities that strengthen our ability to help clients improve reporting, manage risk, streamline processes, and make better use of technology," said Nishta Sharma, chief executive officer of KNAV Advisory.
The signal: The deal fits a broader push toward unified governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) offerings that link audit, controls, reporting, and compliance in one workflow. Wolters Kluwer struck a similar note in January 2026, buying StandardFusion for about €32 million to pair with its audit platform. KNAV's move is smaller and services-led, and its payoff will depend on how cleanly Fastrics folds into the new GRC platform.
