EVERSANA buys UK's Estima Scientific to add AI-powered HEOR muscle

What's the deal? EVERSANADealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a provider of AI-powered commercial services for biopharma, has acquired Estima ScientificDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a London-based health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) technology and services company. Financial terms were not disclosed. Bourne Partners advised Estima on the deal, with Wedlake BellDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → as legal adviser.

What's the endgame? Estima's specialty consulting and proprietary software will fold into EVERSANA's market access and value evidence solutions. Its web-based, generative-AI applications speed up economic modeling, systematic literature reviews, and network meta-analysis — helping drugmakers show payers a drug's clinical and economic value more efficiently.

Who's involved? Estima was founded in 2019 by Tim Reason and Andy Gimblett, both of whom join EVERSANA along with their team. The firm's tools have been validated by top-tier pharmaceutical clients and health technology assessment bodies, including the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.

The acquisition builds on EVERSANA's AI Agency platform, launched in 2025 and expanded in August 2026. EVERSANA serves more than 650 organizations across the product life cycle.

Why now? "Today more than ever, the pharmaceutical industry must embrace AI to transform commercialization," said Mark Thierer, chief executive officer of EVERSANA. The company is scaling to serve global clients and leaning on technology-first acquisitions to do it.

The signal: The purchase fits a broader push to bundle evidence generation, market access, and commercialization. In June, Klick Health bought Oxford PharmaGenesisDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → to expand its HEOR reach; in October, Petauri acquired Franklin Pharmaceutical Consulting for similar capabilities. AI in HEOR is moving from promise to practical workflow — though validation, transparency, and human oversight remain concerns for payers and assessors.
