Agility Robotics adds four customers, opens 50,000 sq ft Pittsburgh hub

What's the deal? Agility Robotics will open a 50,000-square-foot Pittsburgh facility to support growing deployments of its Digit humanoid robot, the company said October 21, 2026. It also added four customers across automotive, consumer goods, and agriculture.

What does the company do? The Salem, Oregon-based firm builds humanoid robots and physical AI. Digit already operates with GXODealroom has a profile for this one. By the numbers: The new site adds roughly 35,000 square feet to Agility's existing Pittsburgh footprint, with staff expected to begin moving in by the end of 2026. The company says it has secured more than $300 million in multi-year orders for Digit 5, subject to contractual milestones.

Why now? As orders build, Agility needs infrastructure to maintain, update, and monitor robots after they ship. The Pittsburgh hub will consolidate software, AI, deployment, and service teams, and house an East Coast service center alongside its Salem operations.

What could go wrong? The $300 million order figure is not completed revenue, and not all four new customers are named. "Scaling humanoid robotics means building the infrastructure to support robots throughout their entire working life," said chief executive officer Peggy Johnson.

The signal: Agility is betting on the unglamorous support layer that turns pilots into scaled commercial use. The real test is whether these commitments convert into reliable deployments — a milestone the industry is still chasing as it races toward going public, with a Churchill CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one.
