Argentina Metals arranges $2.14M placement for Mendoza copper push
What's the deal? Argentina Metals has arranged a non-brokered private placement of up to US$2.2M to fund copper-gold exploration across its project portfolio in Mendoza province, Argentina. The raise involves up to 9,375,000 common shares at 32 Canadian cents each.
Why now? The company closed its first season of fieldwork in late 2026 and wants to carry the work forward. Proceeds will support geophysics and fieldwork aimed at progressing its flagship Las Estrellas project toward an initial drill program in 2027, alongside working capital and general corporate purposes.
What's the endgame? Argentina Metals is a Canadian copper explorer that holds roughly 146,700 hectares across 26 projects, all 100% owned on a clean-title basis. Fieldwork at Las Estrellas has identified seven additional priority target areas, said chief executive officer Roger Clegg.
The offering is expected to close in one or more tranches, with the first closing around October 30, 2026, subject to TSX Venture Exchange approvals. Insiders may participate, which could make the deal a related-party transaction under Canadian securities rules.
What could go wrong? This is early-stage exploration: the financing remains subject to closing and regulatory approvals, and no drilling has yet confirmed the targets. "We believe Mendoza remains significantly underexplored," Clegg said.
The signal: The placement is small against the multibillion-dollar copper developments now advancing in Argentina, from First QuantumDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s Taca Taca to the BHPDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →–LundinDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → Vicuña project and McEwen CopperDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s Los Azules. That push gives Argentina Metals a favourable backdrop — but it funds groundwork to define drill targets, not a de-risked asset.
