Relo Group buys 90% of Singapore's ATIV Medical in $10.2M expat healthcare deal

What's the deal? Japan's Relo GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has agreed to acquire a 90% stake in Singapore-based ATIV Medical for US$12.5M. The Tokyo-listed company will buy the shares through its subsidiary Relocation International, with the transfer planned for October 30, 2026.

Who is ATIV Medical? Founded in 2022, it provides healthcare services to Japanese expatriates and travellers across Southeast Asia, running clinics, online consultations, and Japanese-language support at local hospitals. By October 2026, it operated 20 clinics across five Asian countries.

By the numbers: For the year ended March 2026, ATIV reported US$10.4M in sales, US$1.38M in operating profit, and US$3.75M in net assets. Including advisory fees, the total transaction cost reaches US$12.9M.

What's the endgame? Relo wants to extend its overseas-assignment support from pre-departure arrangements to medical care once staff are abroad. It expects referral synergies by connecting that business with ATIV's medical networks.

Why now? The deal follows Relo's recent additions to its mobility business, including the October 2026 acquisition of safety-support provider Anzen Support. CEO Tatsuki Fujii will stay on as a shareholder and run ATIV's operations.

What could go wrong? Relo says the financial impact on consolidated results is still under review, so the promised synergies remain to be proven. On the disclosed figures, the deal is strategic rather than transformational for a company with a market cap near US$2.92B.

The signal: The purchase reflects a broader push by Relo to deepen services around corporate mobility, bundling healthcare into the full lifecycle of a Japanese overseas assignment.
