FirstService's Century Fire buys A&A Fire Protection in Carolinas tuck-in
What's the deal? FirstServiceDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (TSX:FSV) said its subsidiary Century Fire ProtectionDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired A&A Fire Protection, a Greenville, South Carolina firm that designs, installs, inspects, and repairs commercial fire sprinkler systems. Terms were not disclosed.
The details: Founded in 1977, A&A serves commercial clients across South Carolina, western North Carolina, and north Georgia. President Jake Gilstrap will keep running daily operations and retain a minority equity interest — a structure FirstService uses often to preserve local leadership.
What's the endgame? Century chief executive Richard Deeb said the deal advances a strategy of "enhancing" scale and broadening the client base in markets where it already operates. Rather than entering new territory, it thickens Century's presence in the southeastern US, improving route density and bundling of sprinkler, alarm, and life-safety services.
Why now? The acquisition follows Century's May purchases of GSC Fire & Security in Texas and Titan Fire Protection in Florida. It also lands days before FirstService's scheduled third-quarter results on October 22, 2026.
The signal: Fire protection suits a services consolidator: codes mandate regular inspection and maintenance, creating recurring demand through economic cycles. With Century Fire revenue up more than 10% in the second quarter of 2026 and a growing backlog, A&A reads as a strategic bolt-on in a widening Sun Belt platform — not a transformative deal.
