Try Dealroom →, a Hong Kong fintech that provides working capital to the construction industry, has secured a $10 million funding commitment from dLab Asset ManagementDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The debt facility will fund construction receivables that Riverchain originates and underwrites for contractors and subcontractors.
What's the endgame? Riverchain sources, underwrites, and services short-duration construction receivables through its origination-as-a-service model, then channels institutional capital into them. The dLab commitment expands that funding capacity, giving the investor direct access to an asset class that traditional lenders have historically underserved.
Why now? The commitment follows Riverchain's $5 million Series A in October 2025, led by Betatron Venture GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and a May 2026 funding partnership with Micro Connect. The company says it has deployed more than $100 million across construction projects to date.
Who's backing it? dLab is a Hong Kong-based investment manager licensed by the Securities and Futures Commission, financing SMEs globally through what it calls a "Data-Based Finance" approach that weighs transaction quality over company size.
"We believe that access to working capital should be driven by the quality of underlying business transactions, rather than the size of a company," said Hiro Takaku, chief executive officer of dLab Asset Management.
The signal: The deal matters less as a conventional equity raise than as added lending capacity for a specialist working-capital provider, reflecting growing use of non-bank capital channels for contractors facing long payment cycles. Its impact will hinge on how much financing Riverchain ultimately deploys and how those receivables perform.
