Aspire Fiber lands $80M credit facility to expand Southern California fiber network

What's the deal? Aspire FiberDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has closed an $80 million senior secured credit facility led by Third Coast Bank and CIBCDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → to expand its fiber-optic network across Southern California. Equity partner Arenova CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → also raised its commitment to $75 million, building on the $50 million investment announced in March.

Why now? The financing follows Aspire's launches in Moorpark and Santa Clarita, where its largest build runs through 2027 across Canyon Country, Newhall, Saugus, and Valencia. Additional California markets sit in the expansion pipeline.

What's the endgame? Aspire runs a 100% fiber-optic network capable of 10 Gbps symmetrical speeds, built underground using microtrenching. Founded by a team that began building networks in 2019, it now designs, builds, and operates its own infrastructure.

Founder and chief executive officer Stephen Weatherford said the company sees "first-hand the underinvestment in 100% fiber infrastructure in Southern California."

The signal: The round reflects a broader market push, with fiber providers increasingly using debt and institutional partnerships to fund growth — United CommunicationsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, for example, secured a $230 million credit facility. For a young regional entrant, the package is substantial; its payoff depends on how fast Aspire converts capital into built-out neighborhoods and paying customers.
