The deal expands HEP's position in Oklahoma's Anadarko Basin and is backed by multidecade contracts covering roughly 167,000 dedicated acres.

What's being bought? Iron Horse brings about 400 miles of natural gas pipelines across Canadian, Caddo, and Grady counties, multiple compressor stations, and a 120-acre processing complex with capacity of 425 MMcf/d.

Why now? The purchase caps a two-year buildout in which HEP has invested roughly $2.5 billion in Midcontinent acquisitions. In June, it bought out the remaining stake in the Midship Pipeline and acquired Tulsa-based Superior MidstreamDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →.

What's the endgame? With Iron Horse, HEP's Oklahoma footprint will grow to nearly 2,000 miles of pipelines and about 2 Bcf/d of capacity. The company wants to link Midcontinent gas production to Gulf Coast demand, including LNG export, power generation, industrial users, and data center projects.

"We see tremendous long-term opportunity in the Anadarko Basin," said Herbie Goldstein, HEP's chief financial officer and head of corporate development.

The signal: The deal fits a wider 2026 wave of midstream consolidation, as operators chase scale and infrastructure connecting gas supply to Gulf Coast LNG and industrial demand. Rather than a standalone megadeal, it is a contract-supported expansion of HEP's Anadarko Basin position, expected to close by year-end subject to regulatory approval.
