Riverside adds CSB Nutrition to its supplements platform
What's the deal? The Riverside CompanyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has invested in CSB Nutrition, a contract developer and manufacturer (CDMO) of vitamins, minerals, herbal and dietary supplements. The deal, announced in October 2026, is an add-on to Riverside's portfolio company Western BotanicalsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → rather than a standalone round. No financial terms were disclosed.
Who's involved? Founded in 2001 and based in Spanish Fork, Utah, CSB serves some of the industry's largest vitamins, minerals and supplements (VMS) brands worldwide. William Hood & Co. advised CSB on the deal.
What's the endgame? CSB brings capsule and powder capacity, plus packaging such as stick packs and gusseted bags. Combined with earlier additions WB Blends and liquid specialist Yellow EmperorDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the platform now spans capsules, powders and liquids.
Why it matters: "With CSB Nutrition, Yellow Emperor and WB Blends now under one platform, we can more wholistically support our customers across major dosage forms — capsules, powders and liquids — all in one place," said Don Shaver, chief executive officer of WB Blends. The goal is to build a one-stop contract manufacturer for VMS brands.
The investment fits Riverside's health, longevity and flavour thesis, which targets businesses riding long-term demographic and wellness trends. The firm has completed more than 40 platform investments in the specialization. "Consumers across all demographics are searching for innovative products that enable them to live longer, healthier and more active lives," said Harrison Petts, a principal in Riverside's Capital Appreciation strategy.
The signal: The move reflects steady consolidation in supplement manufacturing, where buyers assemble complementary capabilities and capacity. A July 2026 deal for European CDMO GelpellDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → followed the same pattern. With no disclosed value, the significance here is strategic scale and breadth rather than a measurable raise.
