What's the deal? Crescent Capital GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has provided debt financing to DPG — Deutsche Elektro Prüfgesellschaft, a German electrical inspection and testing company backed by private equity firm Rantum CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. Crescent, acting as sole arranger through its European Specialty Lending strategy, structured the deal to refinance existing bank debt, fund an add-on acquisition and support a dividend recapitalization. Terms were not disclosed.

What's the endgame? Founded in 2015 and based in Mannheim, DPG inspects portable and fixed electrical equipment, machinery, e-mobility infrastructure and non-electrical gear. It sells recurring, regulation-driven safety checks to public institutions, facility managers and industrial customers, and has grown into a nationwide provider since Rantum took control in 2023.

Why now? The financing gives DPG capital to pursue acquisitions in a fragmented market. "We are pleased to support Rantum Capital and DPG with a flexible financing solution that addresses the company's current capital needs while supporting its continued growth and expansion through strategic acquisitions," said Christine Vanden Beukel, head of Crescent's European Specialty Lending strategy.

Who's behind it? Crescent is a global credit manager with $53 billion in assets under management and part of Sun Life's GreenOak platform. Rantum Capital, a Janus Henderson Group company, runs more than €1 billion across private equity and debt funds focused on the German-speaking region.

The signal: The deal reflects Europe's active private-credit market, where lenders are competing with banks to finance sponsor-backed mid-market companies. By combining refinancing, acquisition funding and a dividend recapitalization, Crescent is betting on consolidation in a compliance-services niche driven by steady, regulation-mandated demand.
