Menlo Ventures’ Anthropic stake ~$14B at $965B after >$1B invested
What’s the story? Menlo Ventures is among the biggest venture winners as Anthropic files for IPO. Newcomer groups Menlo with Lightspeed and Iconiq as the VCs that led middle-stage rounds, kept following on, and built stakes that look to be worth tens of billions — while still holding under 2% of the company.
The stake. Bloomberg figures summarised by TechCrunch say Menlo led Anthropic’s Series D and has invested more than $1 billion over time, with a stake now worth about $14 billion at the latest private valuation of $965 billion. Business Insider, citing a person familiar with the matter, has put Menlo’s ownership in a roughly 1.5–2% range after investing over $1.3 billion. Paper values will reset with the public listing price.
