Try Dealroom → has raised $6 million in US-dollar Series A funding led by Dallas-based Ascent Capital PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, alongside a global commercial partnership with Yokohama Off-Highway Tires. The all-primary round closed in May. Formerly Symboticware, the 40-person firm builds software that helps heavy-equipment operators spot maintenance issues, cut fuel use, and reduce unplanned downtime.
What's the endgame? Under the Yokohama deal, the tire maker will white-label and resell Symx.ai's technology to its clients, potentially reaching about 45 new sites in under a year. The platform runs at 24 sites across 14 countries today. The company's aim: to become a full-stack industrial AI platform for mobile equipment.
Why now? Symx.ai spent nearly 13 years as Symboticware, building hardware to pull and standardize data from underground mining trucks. The pandemic prompted a pivot toward AI, a rebrand, and a new chief executive officer in Ash Agarwal. The Yokohama channel is the clearest test yet of whether it can scale past its existing base.
By the numbers: The round lifts Symx.ai's total equity funding to $8 million. It has also secured roughly US$4.55M in non-dilutive financing from the Canadian and Ontario governments. Agarwal did not disclose a valuation.
What investors say: "A lot of companies talk about industrial AI. Very few of them have their technology running on real sites, under real conditions, day after day," Ascent co-founder and managing partner Jonathan Loeffler said. He has joined the startup's board.
The signal: The $6-million round is modest in size but sits in a crowded, practical niche—using equipment data to cut downtime. Equipment makers are deepening their own AI bets: Hitachi Construction MachineryDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → invested $3 million in Canadian rival Rithmik Solutions in January 2026. Symx.ai's reseller route, rather than its cheque size, is what marks a new stage in its push.
