HCLTech closes €9M buy of Croatia's Robotiq.ai to arm its AI agents
What's the deal? HCLTechDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has completed its acquisition of Robotiq.aiDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Zagreb-based enterprise robotic process automation (RPA) provider, in an all-cash deal valued at €9 million. The transaction, which closed on October 26, 2026, was executed through HCL Technologies Austria GmbH, a step-down wholly owned subsidiary that took 100% of Robotiq.ai's equity.
What each side brings: Robotiq.ai, founded in August 2018, serves large banks, insurance groups, and telecom providers, and posted €1.4 million in revenue for the year ended December 31, 2025, up from €0.9 million in 2024. HCLSoftwareDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, the acquirer's software division, serves more than 20,000 organisations.
What's the endgame? HCLTech wants its AI agents to execute work, not just reason about it. Robotiq.ai's RPA technology lets HCL UnO Agentic automate tasks in business applications where APIs are unavailable or inadequate, extending the platform from decision-making to execution.
Why now? HCLSoftware says enterprises are shifting from AI experimentation toward production-scale automation. "Enterprises are looking beyond AI experimentation toward production-scale automation that is secure, governed and reliable," said Kalyan Kumar, president of HCLSoftware.
What could go wrong? This is a small, targeted addition rather than a major strategic takeover, so its payoff depends on integration and customer adoption. In Europe, HCLTech will also face established RPA rivals.
The signal: The deal reflects a broader race to make enterprise AI agents do actual work, converging AI agents, workflow orchestration, and automation. HCLTech is pushing on several fronts at once — it also partnered with Anthropic in October to scale agentic AI across global enterprises.
