Aberdeen launches emerging-markets equity fund as sector inflows rebound

What's the deal? AberdeenDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → Investments has launched the abrdn SICAV I — Emerging Markets Equity Enhanced Index Fund, a new vehicle investing in emerging-markets stocks. It joins the Enhanced Index range the firm has built inside its Luxembourg SICAV, set up in January 2026.

How it works: The fund uses a quantitative, data-driven "enhanced index" strategy that blends active and passive management. It aims to beat the MSCI Emerging Markets 10/40 index, before fees, over rolling five-year periods, with ongoing charges of about 0.66%.

Where it's sold: The fund is available across 15 markets, including France, Germany, Italy, the UK, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Singapore, and Switzerland. Aberdeen's quantitative team managed €147 billion in assets as of June 30, 2026.

Why now? Emerging-markets equities are drawing fresh interest. The MSCI Emerging Markets index returned 22.6% in the first half of 2026, outpacing both the MSCI ACWI (10.4%) and the S&P 500 (9.6%).

ReutersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → reported that emerging-markets equity funds pulled in $6.3 billion in the week ending October 21, their largest intake since August. Aberdeen attributes the demand to concerns over US market concentration, attractive valuations, and resilient fundamentals in emerging economies.

The signal: The rebound starts from a low base — AllianceBernstein estimates emerging-markets equities make up just 5.6% of global assets, below the 8.1% twenty-year average. With Goldman SachsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → having launched a data-driven emerging-markets ETF in September, Aberdeen's debut reflects a broader push by managers to package quantitative strategies for a segment where appetite is returning.
