What's the deal? LabcorpDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has agreed to acquire Millennium HealthDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a specialty laboratory focused on drug testing and surveillance, for an undisclosed sum. Under the agreement, Labcorp will acquire 100% of the outstanding interests of MH MidCo, the holding company for Millennium.
What each side brings: Millennium has more than 15 years of experience in toxicology testing that gives clinicians insight into patients' recent use of prescription medications and illicit drugs. Labcorp employs nearly 71,000 people across roughly 100 countries and performed more than 750 million patient tests globally in 2025.
What's the endgame? Labcorp plans to pair Millennium's specialized toxicology tools with its national laboratory network, broad testing menu, and patient service centers across the US. The combination is aimed at supporting clinicians who treat patients with chronic pain, substance use disorders, and behavioral health conditions.
"We have an opportunity to make a greater impact on people living with chronic pain, mental health conditions and substance use disorders," said Andrea Throop, head of toxicology at Labcorp.
Why now? The deal follows Labcorp's September acquisition of MLM Medical LabsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, which expanded its clinical-trial and biomarker testing footprint. Both moves point to a push to add specialized capabilities rather than simply scale routine testing.
What could go wrong? Millennium carries a compliance history: it paid $256 million in 2015 to resolve government allegations of unnecessary testing and improper inducements to physicians. Those were allegations resolved by settlement, not a finding of liability.
The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. California's Office of Health Care Affordability has an open review of the deal.
The signal: With terms and Millennium's revenue undisclosed, the deal's financial weight is hard to gauge. But its direction is clear — large diagnostic players are buying niche specialists as providers seek testing to support care for chronic pain and substance-use disorders.
