Energea commits $10M credit facility to Tesla Supercharger developer ChargedEV

What's the deal? EnergeaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has committed up to $20 million to finance EV charging, starting with a $10 million secured credit facility to ChargedEV, a developer and owner of Tesla V4 Supercharger stations. The commitment, announced in October through Energea Portfolio 4 USA LP, marks the investment platform's first move into charging infrastructure.

The terms: The debt facility carries a fixed interest rate, seven-year amortization per draw after a short interest-only period, and a first-priority secured interest in the charging assets. Energea also holds an option to acquire a minority equity stake later. The initial draw is backed by two operating stations in Georgia.

What's the endgame? The capital funds the expansion of ChargedEV's portfolio across the Southeast. Energea is negotiating a similar structure with a second developer and intends to pursue more such deals with US charging companies.

Why now? The financing fits Tesla's push to grow its Supercharger network through third-party owners; its Supercharger for Business program had passed 600 customer-owned stalls by the third quarter of 2026. With Tesla's own network additions slowing sharply that quarter, outside financing is becoming more relevant to capacity growth.

Energea, which launched in 2020, says it has facilitated more than $500 million in total investments. "We see a growing demand for EV chargers resulting in a new asset class with recurring, energy-based revenue," said Mike Silvestrini, co-founder and managing partner.

What could go wrong? The deal is modest against the sector's broader funding, and its significance hinges on whether the initial loans perform and the remaining commitment gets deployed.

The signal: For Energea, the move extends its energy-infrastructure strategy beyond solar; for Tesla, it reflects a growing reliance on third-party capital to keep expanding charging capacity.
