Foxconn pours $1.2B into Singapore, France, and Czech units

What's the deal? Hon Hai Precision Industry — the Taiwan-based electronics giant known as Foxconn — approved more than $1.2 billion in share acquisitions across three subsidiaries in Singapore, France, and the Czech Republic. Its board cleared all three deals in a single meeting on October 23, 2026. Each is classified as a long-term investment, funded entirely through private capital.

Where the money goes: The bulk — $1.1 billion — went into eCMMS Precision Singapore, a wholly owned subsidiary, through a capital increase of 1,101,000,000 common shares at $1 each. That lifts Hon Hai's stake to 100%, valued at roughly $1.91 billion.

The AI play: In France, Hon Hai set up Foxconn AI Solution (FR) SAS with a $58 million investment, taking a full 100% stake in the newly formed entity. The company did not detail its focus beyond the long-term label, though the name points to AI solutions.

And in Europe: Hon Hai injected $44 million into Foxconn European Manufacturing Services s.r.o. in the Czech Republic. Post-deal, it owns 90.42% of the unit, with Foxconn Holdings B.V. holding the remaining 9.58%.

What could go wrong? Hon Hai's working capital remains negative at NTD 317,913,506,000, a figure investors may watch as the company commits fresh capital. Its securities investment stands at 16.89% of total assets and 34.34% of owners' equity after the deals.

By the numbers: No brokerage fees were incurred on any transaction, and no directors opposed the resolutions. The company confirmed the deals do not alter its business model.

The signal: The spread across Singapore, France, and the Czech Republic underscores Foxconn's push to diversify manufacturing and technology operations beyond its core base. The French AI entity, in particular, signals an appetite to extend past contract electronics into artificial intelligence.
