What does Azuna do? Founded by Scott Dancy in 2019, it sells refillable, plant-based odor eliminators made with Australian tea tree oil. Its gels, sprays, and wipes target odors at the source rather than masking them.
Why Azuna? The company controls roughly 53% of the world's high-quality Australian tea tree oil supply under a long-term agreement with its primary supplier. It also counts more than 150,000 active subscribers across its Shopify store and Amazon.
What's the endgame? Azuna now wants to move beyond direct-to-consumer channels into national retail. "Azuna is now positioned to go further and faster," said Dancy.
Who's backing it? Chicago Atlantic served as sole arranger. "Scott and his team have combined a superior product, a loyal subscriber base, and a secure supply of premium tea tree oil," said David Enright, partner and head of direct lending at the firm.
The signal: Chicago Atlantic, which has closed over $4.4 billion in credit facilities since inception, is betting on a consumer brand with recurring revenue and supply chain control. The debt deal marks a step up for Azuna as it scales from a niche fix into a retail contender.
