ChiroHD buys ChiroBilling to bring native billing to its chiropractic platform

What's the deal? ChiroHD, a chiropractic electronic health records (EHR) platform, has acquired ChiroBilling, an outsourced billing company, for an undisclosed sum. The move lets ChiroHD build native billing and revenue cycle management directly into its software rather than relying on separate integrations.

What's the endgame? ChiroHD wants to be the "central operating platform" for chiropractic practices, with clinical, scheduling, and billing data in one place. Buying ChiroBilling's 30-person team brings that expertise faster than building it in-house.

Why now? Billing is one of the hardest parts of running a practice. In Chiropractic Economics' 2025 Salary and Expense Survey, doctors reported collecting roughly 62 cents for every dollar billed, down from 71 cents a year earlier.

The key hire: ChiroBilling CEO Shannon Berg joins ChiroHD as president of its new ChiroBilling division, leading the billing roadmap. "Our clients can expect the same team and the same personal service, backed by more technology and resources than we could bring alone," she said.

The two companies have worked together to support more than 100 clinics, with many using both services. Founded in 2017, ChiroHD now supports more than 2,000 clinics across all 50 states.

The signal: Vertical software firms are increasingly absorbing adjacent services to own more of their customers' workflow. By folding billing into the EHR, ChiroHD is betting that an all-in-one platform beats a patchwork of disconnected tools.
