Apcotex buys 1.275% of solar SPV for $75,900 to lock in captive power

What's the deal? Apcotex IndustriesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has agreed to acquire a 1.275% equity stake in Amplus AmpereDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a solar power special purpose vehicle (SPV), for US$97.8K (roughly $75,900). The company will subscribe to 720,000 shares, each with a face value of US$0.14, in a cash deal.

What's the endgame? The purpose is captive consumption — securing direct access to solar power generated by the SPV. Apcotex signed the share purchase agreement on October 22, 2026, with NRB BearingsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Amplus Energy Solutions PTE Ltd, and Amplus Ampere, with completion expected within seven days.

Why now? The deal completes a captive-solar plan Apcotex began earlier this year. In March it approved US$277K across two Amplus solar SPVs, then in May switched its project from Amplus Ceres to Amplus Ampere after power was unavailable from the original entity.

What each side does. Apcotex makes specialty chemicals; the target is a power-sector SPV incorporated on March 26, 2021, with no promoter interest, meaning the deal is not a related-party transaction. Amplus Ampere reported turnover of US$2.34M over the last three years.

The signal: This is an energy-sourcing move, not a push into power generation. The outlay is modest and the target is a project vehicle, reflecting how Indian manufacturers increasingly use group-captive solar arrangements to secure renewable power and manage costs against market volatility.
