Why now? The loan follows Jones AV's largest contract win to date: a four-year framework to deliver operating theatre integration across southern Norway. That deal covers up to 40 operating theatres and is worth more than £4.5 million.
What's the endgame? Founded in 2008, Jones AV designs and installs integration technology for hospital operating theatres through its MyOR software platform, working with hospitals and health trusts across the UK and Europe. The new funding will strengthen working capital as the company scales to meet a growing project pipeline.
The firm plans to create up to seven new jobs and relocate to larger premises to expand office, workshop, and warehouse capacity.
The repeat backer: This is the second time River Capital has backed Jones AV, following a six-figure package in 2024 that funded a theatre integration project at Drammen Hospital in Norway and grew its in-house software team. Since then, the company has achieved B Corp certification and been named among the UK's Top 100 Best Places to Work.
"This funding comes at exactly the right moment for us," said managing director Ingo Aicher. "Winning the South Norway framework is the biggest contract in our history, and this support gives us the working capital headroom to deliver it properly."
The signal: The deal is better understood as regional SME growth finance than a major venture medtech round. River Capital's loan fund later reported £10 million deployed across dozens of North West businesses, reflecting its role in filling growth-finance gaps for ambitious smaller firms.
