Gattaca buys MEV startup Blink Labs, handing tokentus a portfolio exit
What's the deal? GattacaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a London-based blockchain infrastructure company, has acquired BL Research Limited, the operator of the Blink LabsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → platform. The deal gives German investor tokentus investment AGDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → a full exit from its stake, sold entirely for cash. Terms were not disclosed.
What each side brings: Blink Labs builds infrastructure for routing and protecting transactions for wallets and applications, processing more than 15 million transactions daily across multiple blockchains. Gattaca develops and operates infrastructure for blockspace markets.
What's the endgame? The combined team aims to improve transaction execution, cut latency, and strengthen protection for wallets and applications. As part of the Gattaca group, Blink Labs gains the ability to offer customers additional features and services.
What tokentus got: tokentus first invested $150,000 in Blink Labs' 2023 pre-seed round of $1.5 million, then added $50,000 in a 2025 seed round, for $200,000 total. It has received a first cash tranche, with further payments tied to performance conditions outside its control.
A confidentiality clause bars tokentus from disclosing the tranche size, total price, or terms. "A first purchase-price tranche has already been received. Further payments depend on meeting the agreed performance conditions," said chief executive officer Oliver Michel (translated from German). "The transaction is in line with our strategy of investing in relevant blockchain infrastructure."
Why it matters: Blink Labs focuses on protection and recovery from maximal extractable value (MEV) — the profit validators can capture by reordering on-chain transactions. That places the deal in a wider push to consolidate tools that improve transaction execution.
The signal: In January 2026, Consensys acquired transaction-routing service MEV BlockerDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → to add MEV protection to its ecosystem. Gattaca's purchase of another MEV-focused tool points to continued consolidation in on-chain execution infrastructure — and, for tokentus, a realised exit whose full value remains undisclosed.
