Cherry Street Energy refinances and expands credit facility with Fifth Third
What's the deal? Cherry Street EnergyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an Atlanta-based distributed power company, has closed a refinanced and enlarged credit facility to fund its expansion across the Southeast. Fifth Third Bank, National Association led as administrative agent, left lead arranger, and sole bookrunner. The facilities, which closed October 15, include a revolving line of credit plus term and delayed draw term loan commitments.
What's the endgame? Since 2015, Cherry Street has built, bought, owned, and operated solar and power infrastructure for commercial, industrial, and institutional customers, who buy the power rather than the equipment. The new capital supports development and acquisition of more solar projects.
Why now? The financing follows a shift from project-by-project growth toward scaling a broader portfolio. In January 2026, Cherry Street acquired 16 operating projects from Inman Solar, adding 12.7MW across five states.
"This expanded facility gives us more capital to invest in our customers," said chief executive officer Michael Chanin. "Fifth Third and the lender group understand our model of long-term ownership and have backed our growth."
The signal: Appetite for distributed-energy capital is strong. Solar LandscapeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → secured a $125 million revolving facility in June and a $600 million debt facility in May. Cherry Street's deal, though undisclosed in size, points to the same lender confidence in long-term renewable ownership models.
